Chinook Arch Regional Library System

Great news! The ID of Waterton has received Ministerial approval to join the Chinook Arch Regional Library System. This means that residents of Waterton are now eligible for full-service memberships (as opposed to being restricted to local cards).

Because Waterton does not have a library board, residents may choose to make any Chinook Arch member library their “home” library. Therefore, Waterton residents could potentially show up at any member library, asking for a borrowing card. These folks should now be charged your standard borrowing card fee, rather than a non-resident/local fee, and should be issued a PIN, so that they can access online resources.

In registering for a card, Waterton residents should present some kind of proof of residency (government-issued ID, utility bill, etc.) showing a Waterton address, or other arrangement per your library policy.

Chinook Arch will be updating its circulation policies to reflect this exciting development.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns about this matter.

Best regards,

Robin Hepher,

CEO Chinook Arch Regional Library System
